She was about to add some polite small talk, but before the words even left her mouth, Nan Zha caught a glimpse from the corner of her eye, Bai Ning was still on the hospital bed, still catching her breath. Her expression shifted instantly and she strode quickly toward Bai Ning.

Worry spread across her face as she asked urgently.

Bai Ning looked a little rough at the moment, hair falling loosely over her shoulders in a mess, damp strands plastered to her forehead with sweat, cheeks flushed, breathing still uneven. She looked inexplicably... enticing.

But Nan Zha had nothing but pure concern in her heart, not a single other thought.

She had been totally fine just yesterday when she checked on her. How did she end up like this all of a sudden?

She drew the curtain closed and pointed to the spot beside it.

Brow tightly furrowed, watching Jiang Xiyue pull the curtain shut, Nan Zha simply couldn't sit still. She started pacing back and forth, glancing over at the curtain every few seconds.
