Chapter 22: Darknet Members Appear

After killing the five hundred Primordial Yang Sect disciples, the aura around Lin Yu grew even heavier.

The long spear flew back into Lin Yu’s hand. With a light shake of his wrist, the blood on the spear vanished, and the spotless weapon once more gleamed with a cold light.

Lin Yu strolled through the corpses of the Primordial Yang Sect disciples and continued deeper inside.

When the others saw this, they immediately followed.

Just as Chu Feng was about to move with the crowd, he suddenly sensed something. He stopped, turned around, and looked behind him.

Only then did he see that ten people had appeared behind him at some unknown point. All ten were dressed in black robes, and not a single ripple of aura could be felt from them.

Nine of them wore strange bronze masks whose expressions seemed to be both weeping and smiling, with only a pair of cold, emotionless eyes exposed to the air.

The remaining one was a man standing at the front of the nine. He wore no mask, and his features were utterly ordinary—the kind of face that would disappear the moment he was thrown into a crowd.

“Shi, captain of Darknet Squad One, together with the squad members, greets the Master!” the ten said in unison as they dropped to their knees before Chu Feng.

“Rise,” Chu Feng said, a trace of satisfaction appearing on his face.

“Many thanks, Master,” Shi and the nine members replied as they stood.

“Master, all members of the Darknet Organization have already successfully infiltrated the Five Great Dynasties. The ten of us are responsible for this region.”

“From now on, the ten of us will remain by your side to relay your orders and ensure your safety,” Shi said respectfully.

“Mm.”

“If you are going to remain by my side from now on, then do not call me Master anymore. Call me Young Master Chu instead.”

As Chu Feng looked at the ten people before him, the satisfaction in his heart deepened.

Anything produced by the System was certain to be first-rate.

That statement was indeed true. Even Chu Feng himself had failed to notice Shi and the others immediately just now.

If their skill at concealing their auras was already this exquisite, then their methods of assassination went without saying.

“Yes, Young Master Chu,” Shi replied with a nod.

“You have arrived at just the right time. I happen to have a task for you. Go and deal with the rest of the Primordial Yang Sect disciples.”

“Yes. We guarantee that the mission will be completed,” Shi answered. Then he cast a glance at the nine Darknet members behind him. Upon receiving the order, the nine figures vanished from where they stood as abruptly and soundlessly as ghosts.

A trivial matter like this could be left to the members. There was no need for him, the squad leader, to act personally.

Shi respectfully moved to stand behind Chu Feng, then gave Su Yanran a friendly smile.

Su Yanran responded with a faint nod, but inwardly, she was deeply shaken.

The longer she stayed by Chu Feng’s side, the more she felt that she could not see through him.

Chu Feng was full of secrets. First, there was his unfathomable strength, and then there were the ten people who had suddenly appeared just now.

Judging by what Shi had said earlier, Chu Feng also commanded an organization, one that was spread throughout all Five Great Dynasties!

Any disturbance within the Five Great Dynasties, no matter how slight, would never escape Chu Feng’s notice.

Su Yanran had never even heard of such a terrifying organization.

Though she was filled with curiosity, Su Yanran was also extremely intelligent and knew where the limits lay.

There were some things Chu Feng had not told her, and since he had not, she would not ask. It was enough for her to simply do what she ought to do.

Together with Shi and Su Yanran, Chu Feng followed the crowd and headed deeper into the Primordial Yang Sect.

After passing through the area where the outer disciples of the Primordial Yang Sect lived, a towering peak that reached into the clouds and resembled an immortal realm appeared before Lin Yu.

Lin Yu lightly tapped the ground with his foot and flew straight toward the summit. At that moment, five figures appeared and blocked his path.

Someone immediately recognized their identities. They were the five Elders of the Primordial Yang Sect, and all of them had reached the Innate Realm.

Without wasting a single word, the five Elders of the Primordial Yang Sect simultaneously unleashed their respective methods and moved to suppress and kill Lin Yu.

Lin Yu did not fear death. Gripping his long spear, he charged forward to meet them and began fighting the five of them.

At once, wave after wave of violent aftershocks spread through the air. Any one of those aftershocks was enough to instantly kill a Second- or Third-Rank martial artist.

The martial artists watching the battle retreated in terror, afraid that this unearned disaster might fall upon their own heads.

Chu Feng and the other two did not move. Before any of the incoming aftershocks could come within ten meters of Chu Feng, Shi had already erased them.

The battle was extremely fierce, and under the five men’s combined assault, Lin Yu remained at a disadvantage throughout.

After all, the five opponents were genuine Innate-realm experts, whereas Lin Yu’s Innate-realm strength had only been achieved by relying on “Momentum.”

After only a few short exchanges, Lin Yu’s body was already covered in dense wounds. One wound on his chest was less than a finger’s breadth away from his heart.

Fortunately, Lin Yu had dodged in time. Otherwise, he would have died to that strike.

“You little wretch, do you really think you can shake the foundations of my Primordial Yang Sect with a few unorthodox tricks?”

“How laughable! Today, this old man will flay you, tear out your tendons, grind your bones to ash, and use your death to uphold the prestige of the Primordial Yang Sect!” one of the Primordial Yang Sect Elders roared.

As soon as his words fell, the five Elders attacked at the same time, intending to capture Lin Yu in a single strike.

Facing the five figures charging toward him, a trace of disdain appeared in Lin Yu’s eyes. He circulated the cultivation art 《Bloodfiend Sacrifice》 at full force, and the Blood Essence in his body transformed into blazing flames.

Lin Yu’s frame began to grow thin and gaunt. It was as though all the moisture in his skin had been drained away in an instant, leaving it shriveled and dull. His glossy black hair turned snow-white.

His features rapidly aged. His once bright eyes became clouded, yet the determination within them remained unchanged.

At the same time, the aura around Lin Yu surged upward at astonishing speed, and his cultivation reached the late stage of the Innate Realm!

A powerful aura spread out from beneath Lin Yu’s feet, as if it were about to freeze the very space around him solid.

Holding the long spear, Lin Yu stepped forward. The movement appeared exceedingly slow, yet in an instant he had passed through the attacks of the five Elders and appeared before them.

Lin Yu raised his long spear and, with a simple horizontal sweep, cut four of the Elders in half at the waist!

The one who survived was the Grand Elder of the Primordial Yang Sect. His cultivation was at the middle stage of the Innate Realm, and only because his reaction was swift enough did he manage to evade that blow.

The moment he saw the four dead men, terror immediately flooded the Grand Elder’s face.

After glancing at the aged Lin Yu, the Grand Elder cursed him inwardly as a madman, then turned and fled.

He knew Lin Yu would not be able to maintain that strength for long. As long as he dragged things out until the time passed, Lin Yu would die without question.

But if even he understood that principle, how could Lin Yu possibly not know it as well?

Without giving the Grand Elder a chance to escape, Lin Yu caught up to him, and the long spear in his hand pierced straight through his body.

After killing the five Elders, Lin Yu suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood. His body swayed, and had he not supported himself with the long spear, he would have nearly collapsed on the spot.

Lin Yu turned around once more. The shy young man from before was gone. What met the eye now was the face of an old man, and not the slightest trace of blood remained on that aged countenance.

When Lin Yu saw Chu Feng, his expression shifted slightly, as though he had not expected the other man to have followed him this far.

Without saying a word, Lin Yu lifted his head and looked toward the very top of the mountain peak before setting off once more.

This time, he flew very, very slowly.

Chu Feng, Shi, and Su Yanran followed behind him the entire time, silently watching his back.

As for the others, none of them followed any farther.
