Chapter 24: A Vicious Curse

In the plaza, after Chu Feng finished speaking, a cold and vicious expression appeared on his face.

With a light flick of his sleeve, a vast burst of power exploded outward and sent Wang Yanghai flying at once.

Lu Qiu, standing nearby, was completely dumbfounded. He had never expected Chu Feng to strike without another word, and the moment he did, he had actually blown back Wang Yanghai, who possessed Grandmaster-realm strength?!

Was he hallucinating or something?

After blasting Wang Yanghai away, Chu Feng’s figure suddenly vanished from where he stood and appeared above Wang Yanghai’s head.

Only then did Wang Yanghai recover from the abrupt turn of events, a trace of humiliation and fury appearing on his face as the aura of an early Grandmaster-realm expert erupted from his body.

With a low roar, Wang Yanghai raised his hand and struck toward the Chu Feng above him.

Primordial Blazing Palm!

The Spiritual Qi in the plaza’s air surged wildly toward Wang Yanghai’s palm, then transformed into a blazing palm strike a hundred meters wide and blasted toward Chu Feng.

Wherever the palm strike passed, crimson heat spread through the air, the temperature so terrifying that even space itself rippled.

Wang Yanghai let out a savage snort, and a trace of killing intent flashed through the depths of his eyes.

The moment he attacked, he showed absolutely no restraint, intending to kill Chu Feng on the spot.

If it had been any other prince, Wang Yanghai might have felt some scruples. But Chu Feng was merely a cast-off and unfavored prince. If he killed him, then so be it. As long as everything was cleaned up afterward and no hidden trouble was left behind, that would be enough.

No matter what, Wang Yanghai would never allow the truth behind the Lin Village massacre to be exposed.

Once evidence of that matter came to light, the one to suffer would not be him alone. It would inevitably drag others into it as well.

The power those people possessed was not something Wang Yanghai dared offend.

So in that instant, Wang Yanghai made up his mind completely.

He would make Chu Feng shut his mouth forever!

Wang Yanghai had absolute confidence in that palm strike. No matter what Chu Feng’s strength was, under that attack, he would be reduced to ashes.

Chu Feng looked indifferently at the attack rushing toward him. Calmly, he raised his hand, joined two fingers like a sword, and drew them through the air.

The blazing palm strike that had been mighty enough to shake the heavens a moment ago split apart from the middle in the next instant, dissolving into countless crimson motes that vanished into the air.

Wang Yanghai’s eyes widened, and disbelief spread across his face.

As Chu Feng’s sword fingers moved, a rope condensed from Spiritual Qi appeared and shot toward Wang Yanghai like a nimble venomous snake.

Wang Yanghai was greatly alarmed. He had never seen such a bizarre method before. In his panic, he hurriedly struck out several palms at the Spiritual Qi rope.

What made his scalp go numb with terror was that his attacks caused no damage whatsoever when they landed on the rope. They did not even stir the slightest ripple.

The Spiritual Qi rope wrapped itself around Wang Yanghai and tightened slightly. At once, Wang Yanghai collapsed to the ground like a bound beast of prey.

And it was not over yet.

Both ends of the Spiritual Qi rope pierced into Wang Yanghai’s body.

One end pierced through his Spiritual Sea and destroyed his entire cultivation.

The other end passed through his flesh and locked his shoulder blades, restricting his movements.

The double blow of having his cultivation crippled and his body restrained drove Wang Yanghai into a maddened state. Staring at Chu Feng with a twisted face, he howled furiously.

“How noisy,” Chu Feng said coldly.

He stepped down and crushed Wang Yanghai’s mouth beneath his foot. Shreds of flesh and broken teeth mixed with blood spilled across the ground, and the scene instantly became bloody.

Chu Feng remained unmoved.

During his five years in the Northern Frontier, he had seen scenes even bloodier than this. He had long since grown used to them.

Mercy toward one’s enemies was cruelty toward oneself...

Chu Feng reached out, grabbed Wang Yanghai by the throat, and lifted him high into the air.

“Your Highness, Sect Master Wang serves Imperial Prince Kun. Is it not inappropriate for you to act like this?” Lu Qiu said from the side. Though he had been scared out of his wits by Wang Yanghai’s miserable state, he still forced himself to step forward.

“Imperial Prince Kun? So you mean he also has a share in this matter?” Chu Feng turned his head and gave him a wicked smile.

“T-That... Naturally, this has nothing to do with Imperial Prince Kun. I merely misspoke for a moment,” Lu Qiu said at once, frantically waving his hands in denial.

“It is best if it has nothing to do with Imperial Prince Kun.”

Chu Feng turned back to stare at Wang Yanghai. At that moment, his voice was as cold as if it had come from the deepest reaches of the underworld.

“Sect Master Wang, the reason I am killing you today is actually nothing special. If I must give one reason, then it is this and nothing more.”

“I am stronger than you.”

After saying that, Chu Feng directly twisted Wang Yanghai’s neck apart. Wang Yanghai’s pupils rapidly dilated, and the light faded from his eyes.

“Your Highness, if there is nothing else, then I shall take my leave first,” Lu Qiu said in a low voice, his eyelids twitching wildly.

By now, the trouble named Lin Yu was not going to survive much longer, but this matter seemed to be growing increasingly difficult to handle.

With Wang Yanghai dead and the Primordial Yang Sect destroyed, Marquis Zhuming in the Capital would certainly fly into a rage.

And now that the Seventh Prince, this unexpected variable, had appeared, this matter definitely would not end with the Primordial Yang Sect alone.

The situation was developing in an increasingly uncontrollable direction, and Lu Qiu had to return at once to report everything to the Governor so that the Governor could make a decision.

“Mm.” Chu Feng gave a faint grunt.

Lu Qiu’s expression relaxed, and he let out a heavy sigh of relief in his heart before turning to leave.

“Young Master, you are just letting him go?” Su Yanran asked softly with a frown.

Chu Feng said nothing. He stared at Lu Qiu’s retreating figure in the distance, and the corner of his mouth suddenly curled upward.

Chu Feng violently hurled Wang Yanghai’s corpse from his hand. The corpse shot straight toward Lu Qiu like a cannonball.

In the distance, Lu Qiu, who had just begun to rejoice inwardly, suddenly heard a sharp rushing sound behind him. He stopped and turned around to look.

The moment Lu Qiu turned around, his vision went black as he crashed straight into Wang Yanghai’s corpse. Both of their heads exploded at the same time.

Before his death, Lu Qiu probably never would have dreamed that he would die in such a way.

“Not bad. My aim is actually quite accurate,” Chu Feng said with a satisfied smile.

Naturally, he had never intended to let Lu Qiu leave alive.

If Lu Qiu were allowed to get away and report everything that had happened here, then the people behind the scenes would become wary, and that would only make it harder for Chu Feng to uncover the truth.

“...” Su Yanran and Shi said nothing.

Chu Feng walked over to Lin Yu.

At that moment, Lin Yu’s spirit was exhausted, his eyelids heavy, as though they could close at any time.

A faint breeze swept past. Lin Yu sank wearily to the ground and looked toward the direction of Lin Village, his expression dazed, a smile resting at the corner of his lips as though he were recalling some beautiful memories.

Chu Feng sat down beside Lin Yu and quietly accompanied him through these final moments.

“I do not pretend to be some saintly good man, but once certain things happen to fall into my hands, I will still do them.”

“Otherwise, I would feel extremely displeased.”

“Do not worry. The matter of Lin Village will not end just like this. I will investigate it thoroughly and uncover the whole truth,” Chu Feng said calmly.

Lin Yu’s gaze slowly focused. He turned his head to look at Chu Feng and smiled. “Thank you. In the future, Seventh Prince, you will surely become a good ruler revered by all the people.”

Chu Feng shrugged. “I have never heard such a vicious curse before.”

“Hahahaha.”

As the sun set in the west, the nine Darknet members silently appeared behind Chu Feng. Not a speck of dust stained them, their eyes beneath their masks were as cold as still water, and a faint smell of blood lingered about them.

Chu Feng rose to his feet, found a good place atop the mountain, and had Lin Yu’s body buried there.
