Chapter 1

Prologue

“I. Will be resigning.”

At the company. Inside the cramped president’s office, Ju Seo-jin spoke calmly.

The potbellied president’s face twisted sharply as he glared at Ju Seo-jin.

“What? Ju Seo-jin. You bastard, what did you just say? What? Say it again.”

“Yes. I will gladly say it again. I said that I will be resigning.”

Ju Seo-jin.

A tall man with a decadent impression continued speaking in a voice without inflection.

“I have organized all the work I was responsible for into documents so that there will be no harm to the company.”

Ju Seo-jin lightly moved his dark-circle-ridden eyes with a slide, looking at the potbellied president, Kim Bong-hyuk.

For an instant.

Kim Bong-hyuk, who had been trying hard to maintain a fierce expression, flinched and leaned his upper body back.

However, that was only for a moment.

Before long, Kim Bong-hyuk’s face turned red, and he ground his teeth as he burst into a furious roar.

His pig-like jowls quivered.

“Hah! What a load of bullshit. There will be no harm to the company-a? My, how considerate of you! Hey, is that something a bastard who works sales should suddenly say? What kind of nonsense is this?”

“……I have organized everything without omission, including what I discussed with our clients and the matters related to contracts currently in progress. Please do not worry.”

“You. Be honest with me. You were always saying you were talking to clients on your own, and now that you have finally built up some know-how, are you trying to steal the clients away? Are you or not!”

“No.”

Ju Seo-jin narrowed his eyes and answered in a cold voice.

“If I had intended to steal the company’s clients and start my own business, I would have done so long ago. There is no value in doing that.”

“What?”

“You know this, do you not? After I joined the company, I spent four out of five years handling clients and sales on my own. And yet, you froze my salary negotiation…… and kept delaying payment of my overtime allowance.”

“Haaa…… Listen here, Deputy Manager Ju. Do you not know that 38 million won a year is already a generous amount? Hm? And! I told you the overtime allowance was just being delayed for a little while because the company’s situation is difficult! Why can you not trust people? You should not be doing this to me, you bastard! Keep it reasonable, reasonable-!”

“You gave me that much because you know how many years I spent doing sales with our clients and closing contracts, did you not?”

“Hey───!!”

“…….”

As Ju Seo-jin stood still with lifeless eyes, Kim Bong-hyuk snorted hard, venting his rage.

“……Hah! Deputy Manager Ju, it seems I look very easy to you, do I? Listen here, Mr. Ju Seo-jin. ‘You, do you think I───’”

“-‘You, do you want me to show you how narrow the floor of this industry is? Hm? Once a rumor spreads in this industry, you will have nowhere to go, you little punk!’ ……is what you wanted to say, was it not?”

“……Huh?”

“I have already heard it, so you do not need to say any more.”

The moment Ju Seo-jin narrowed his eyes and made an icy expression, Kim Bong-hyuk’s face stiffened.

After all, the line Kim Bong-hyuk had just been imitated saying by Ju Seo-jin…… was truly exactly what he had been about to say, without a single word out of place.

Moreover, had it not even been bizarrely identical to Kim Bong-hyuk’s own voice?

As if… he had been possessed by a ghost.

It was enough to send chills down one’s spine.

As Kim Bong-hyuk’s face turned pale with an unknown chill, Ju Seo-jin continued speaking.

“-‘Deputy Manager Ju, do you even know how much effort I put into raising you?’ or, -‘Deputy Manager Ju. I am truly giving you one last chance. Think it over again. Do not leave the house and suffer like a dog.’ That is what you were going to say, was it not?”

“You, you, you…….”

“I do not know why you are saying meaningless things. I do not particularly want to hear them again. I have already calculated my severance pay and the overtime allowance that has been delayed until now, so please deposit them on the proper date.”

“…….”

Slide.

Ju Seo-jin lightly lowered his head as if nodding to show his courtesy, then turned around and headed outside the president’s office.

And.

Just as Ju Seo-jin grabbed the handle of the president’s office door, he turned his head back with an ah- as if he had remembered something he had forgotten.

Flinch. Kim Bong-hyuk, who met Ju Seo-jin’s black pupils, trembled in spite of himself and subtly averted his eyes.

Seeing that, Ju Seo-jin opened his mouth and offered a word of advice.

“Mm. Now that I think about it, there is one thing I am worried about, so I will mention it…… no matter how close a friend he may be, it would be better to trust him in moderation.”

“……What?”

“Even with a good friend, things frequently become troublesome once money starts getting involved. Unfortunately, you will hear bad news on a day when it happens to be raining. How regrettable.”

“……What are you?”

“Then I will be going now.”

With that as the end, Ju Seo-jin turned the handle of the president’s office door with a CREAK- and left for the office outside.

Clack.

……Leaving behind only an inexplicable story.

***

Two weeks later.

His family home.

Having returned home after a long time, Ju Seo-jin sat in front of his desk, making coffee in a mug and drinking it as he looked out the window.

SHAAAA-!

A downpour.

It was a day when violent rain and wind were sweeping across the entire country.

It had already been a while since he had received both his severance pay and all of the overtime allowance that had been delayed until then.

BUZZ- BUZZ- BUZZ-

However.

His smartphone vibrated without rest, and Kim Bong-hyuk, who was now nothing more than a stranger, kept contacting him again and again.

So much so that he could feel the man’s emotions from beyond the machine.

━[President Kim Bong-hyuk] : Deputy Manager Ju. No, Mr. Ju Seo-jin. I am truly sorry, but could you return to the company? The clients are all making a fuss, saying that once their contract periods are over, they will not renew anymore.

━[President Kim Bong-hyuk] : An acquaintance I was going to cooperate with in business… no, that son of a bitch… is actually stealing away all the clients and trying to take them all with better conditions. I would like to meet and talk about the details, Mr. Ju Seo-jin.

━[President Kim Bong-hyuk] : You did not like that I froze the salary negotiation, right? That was it, right? Hm? I will raise it to 45 million won a year. Do you not want to try again? Mr. Ju Seo-jin, you were truly good at your work. Please think about it. I am begging you.

……….

…….

….

Ju Seo-jin blew a breath, cooling the hot coffee, then took a sip and operated his smartphone.

[Block Incoming Calls]

Resignation.

He had already received his severance pay and even the overtime allowance he had not been paid.

They were strangers now, so there was no reason to contact each other anymore.

To begin with, had it not been such a small company that Ju Seo-jin, who was only twenty-eight years old, could wear the title of deputy manager?

It was the very image of what people commonly called a shitty small company.

It would be beneficial not to pay attention to it in many ways anymore.

BUZZ-

It was just as Ju Seo-jin was about to touch the smartphone screen and block the contact.

A single message appeared, as if it truly were the last one.

━[President Kim Bong-hyuk] : And… the thing you said last time, telling me to be careful of my friend, could you tell me why you said that? How did you know? Do you perhaps know some powerful shaman? Hm?

Tap.

He ignored it.

After making Kim Bong-hyuk’s contact blocked from incoming calls, Ju Seo-jin set his smartphone face down on the desk with a tap.

Then he picked up the mug again, took a sip of coffee, and frowned with his dark-circle-ridden eyes.

Drip.

Blood came from his nose.

Hot blood flowed.

As if he were used to it, Ju Seo-jin pulled out a tissue, wiped away the nosebleed, and clicked his tongue.

“Tsk. This is why I should not say things like that carelessly. I got angry for no reason and said something unnecessary.”

Kim Bong-hyuk.

That potbellied president had asked Ju Seo-jin whether he knew some powerful shaman…… but strictly speaking, that was different.

‘Originally, fate and things like that can cause serious trouble if you carelessly tell others about them.’

……After all, even a shaman born with divine energy could not see fate exactly as it was and change it, the way Ju Seo-jin could.

***

━Seo-jin, you… are not fated to be a shaman. It is not that you were born with divine energy. You were merely born with… ‘special eyes’ that a living person should not have. If you receive a spirit descent, even a god may covet those two eyes of yours and swallow you whole.

Those were words he had heard until his ears hurt from his maternal grandfather, who had been a shaman, when he was young.

It meant that unlike his inborn eyes that could see fate, he had no divine energy, so it was impossible for him to become a shaman.

Rather, because he had been born with ‘eyes’ that even a shaman who had received a spirit descent could not possess, his grandfather had said that even a god would covet them while drooling.

━Seo-jin, things that should not be seen will appear before you from now on…… but you must abso-lutely not use them or carelessly tell others about them. Do not take what your grandpa is saying lightly, understand? Truly, your life may be put in danger. You must keep it in mind.

It was a warning given because he knew that the ability Ju Seo-jin had been born with, the ‘eyes that saw fate,’ was something a living person must not use.

He could not forget that conversation.

‘Seeing fate…… means having to pay a price in some form. I understand why he said that.’

Of course he did.

From elementary school until today, when he had become a working adult, he had paid the price for reading fate, whether large or small.

Although the expressions varied somewhat, such as fate or heavenly secrets, in the end, Ju Seo-jin was close to a prophet who could divine the future.

Several months at the longest, a few seconds at the shortest.

Ju Seo-jin was an existence born with the ability to see in advance what would happen in the future, or the possibility that it would turn out that way…… and change it.

However, no matter when it was, reading fate and changing it always required him to pay a price.

‘There is always a price, large or small, for reading fate and changing it, or hinting at it to someone else. He must have thought I would suffer because of that. And in reality, I did.’

Perhaps because he had paid countless prices for reading fate as he grew older, Ju Seo-jin no longer carelessly changed what he read from fate or told others about it.

He only spoke within a range that did not greatly influence what would happen in the future, and unless it had no small effect on his own life, he did not change fate even if he read it.

Whether large or small.

It was because the price for reading and changing fate was not easy to bear.

Had his nose not bled merely from vaguely telling Kim Bong-hyuk, who was at best the president of a small-to-medium company, about the crisis that would befall him in the future as if it were no big deal?

Moreover, after realizing that the company was showing signs of ruin and resigning, he had spent two weeks suffering from a high fever as the price for reading and changing fate, unable to move from his bed.

If, by some chance, he read fate and changed it greatly, the possibility of death could not be ruled out either.

‘At any rate. It would be nice if I could at least stop seeing things that will happen in the future…… but no matter how much I try to suppress it, I end up reading fate.’

Reading fate was something that happened regardless of whether Ju Seo-jin wanted it or not.

Of course.

Since Ju Seo-jin was doing his best not to read fate, it was being suppressed to a certain extent.

But it was difficult to endure.

It could not be helped.

A power that even his maternal grandfather, who had worked as a shaman and received a spirit descent, had declared to be ‘something a living person cannot possess.’

There was no such thing as a solution.

Because of his eyes that saw fate, not only his working life but even his daily life was difficult.

Perhaps it was because he had lived his entire life this way.

A sigh escaped him on its own.

‘If I had at least been born with divine energy… perhaps I would have become a shaman instead. Then I would not have had to live every day busily suppressing this ability. It is like a curse.’

A curse.

The eyes that saw fate- there was no other way to describe this peculiar constitution.

Truly, there was not.

Ju Seo-jin stopped sighing, scratched his head roughly, and cut off his thoughts before they could grow longer.

‘No. There is no point thinking about it. ……Nothing will change just because I do this. Getting depressed will not help.’

Five years.

Once he quit the company he had attended for a period that was by no means short, his heart felt empty.

Thanks to the eyes that saw fate, he had realized that the company had signs of ruin and resigned…… but he felt at a loss about how to live from now on.

Thanks to receiving both his severance pay and the delayed overtime allowance, he would have no difficulty living for the time being, but he could not simply keep eating away at the money he had saved, could he?

‘Still, I have quite a bit of time left, so I should be able to think about what I will do for a living from now on.’

Thinking that, Ju Seo-jin took hold of the mug set on his desk again and began drinking his coffee.

DING, DING-.

That was when it happened.

A notification sound rang out from his smartphone, informing him that someone had contacted him.

He wondered who it could be- and it was a message from someone unexpected.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Oppa. Where are you? Are you in your room? What are you doing?

‘Ju Seo-yoon?’

His younger sister.

Because of the age gap of five years, she had been the late-born child of the family and had monopolized everyone’s affection.

Ju Seo-jin tilted his head and replied immediately.

TAP TAP TAP-

━[Me] : I am in my room. I am drinking coffee. My fever seems to have gone down now…… and I was thinking of looking for a new job soon. Why?

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Oppa, it has not been long since you resigned, but you are already trying to look for a new job? Will that not ruin your health? I am worried……?

━[Me] : Do not worry. I was just planning to look around for a bit and see where I should find a new job. I am going to stay at home for the time being.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : I see.

━[Me] : ?

A strange reaction.

As Ju Seo-jin tilted his head, the messenger notification sound rang out, and a message appeared.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Mm. Then, do you perhaps have any interest in trying a short-term part-time job? It is not difficult…… I would like you to help me for a little while.

‘A short-term… part-time job?’

It was suspicious.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Could you help me with the game stream I am doing this time? It is important.

Ah- now that he thought about it, he had heard that Ju Seo-yoon was a streamer who did personal broadcasts.

It seemed she was asking him to help with that…… but he did not feel inclined.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Originally, this is a single-player game, but it also has multiplayer. The scale is too large to do it alone…… and I do not know anyone. I think it would be better to do it together with you, Oppa.

‘Mm. Even if it is a personal broadcast, I do not want to step out in front of strangers. And how much could she even pay me? I should just refuse.’

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : 1.2 million won. That is the basic payment, and I will give you 50% of the donations from the stream that day and the video revenue. Will you do it?

‘?’

Ju Seo-jin blinked- and blinked- then, before he knew it, tapped on his smartphone and sent a reply.

━[Me] : Then, of course I should do it.

……It was capitalism, fresh as ever.

***

Chapter 1: [Knight Soul] Was This Game Always This Easy? (1)

In front of his desk.

Ju Seo-jin took a sip of coffee from his mug, then blinked and let out a hollow laugh.

‘……How did I end up accepting this kind of offer? I never imagined this. Something like this.’

He felt bewildered.

He had latched onto the words ‘1.2 million won’ and immediately accepted Ju Seo-yoon’s short-term part-time job(?) offer on the spot…… but he was flustered.

A personal broadcast.

For Ju Seo-jin, who had little interest in what people commonly called internet broadcasts, a game stream was a field where he had no idea how he was supposed to help.

‘I do not even have much interest in terrestrial channels on TV, let alone personal broadcasts. I wonder if I accepted for nothing.’

However, even if Ju Seo-jin had no interest in streamers, it was not as though he was entirely ignorant.

He at least knew roughly how streamers earned money.

A basic payment of 1.2 million won, and even if it was only for that day, splitting 50% of the broadcast donations and video revenue with him as well, was undoubtedly an exceptional offer.

It made him think that perhaps Ju Seo-yoon could casually say something like that because she was that popular as a streamer.

Because of that, he also regretted whether instantly accepting Ju Seo-yoon’s offer just now might have been the wrong decision.

‘I am worried I might only ruin the atmosphere of Seo-yoon’s stream for no reason.’

Ju Seo-jin’s face changed into a slightly stiff expression, and his complexion darkened.

Just then, his smartphone sounded the messenger notification again… and a message came from Ju Seo-yoon.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : The broadcast donations and video revenue from that day that I will give you as +@ on top of the 1.2 million won… if I calculate it roughly, I think the total will be around 3 million won. Is that all right?

Mm.

No, thinking about it again, even if he had no interest in the work of a streamer, there would probably be no problem if he tried to do it well.

……It was sorrowful capitalism.

━[Me] : Yeah. Then, of course that is fine. But is it all right for you to give me that much? I do not think much will be left for you…… will it not be a burden?

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : I am not that unpopular, you know? You do not have to worry. Even if I give you that much, I will still have plenty left.

Well, since she herself said so, there was no reason for Ju Seo-jin to say anything more.

Instead, Ju Seo-jin sent a simple message and asked to discuss it.

━[Me] : I do not know how much you make for you to say that… but fine, I understand. So, when does this game stream start? Around a week later?

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : It starts in one day?

━[Me] : ?

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : I set the broadcast schedule thinking I would start tomorrow. Oppa, you have to play the game with me tomorrow right after lunch too.

━[Me] : ........

When Ju Seo-jin sent a message as if he had lost his words and fallen silent, Ju Seo-yoon sent a reply as though she were teasing him.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Ahem. Why have you suddenly gone quiet? Why do you think I offered such strong pay, dear elder brother? It is precisely because I took all this into account that I am paying you so handsomely.

She was not wrong.

‘……Somehow, I thought the pay was too high. Of course it was.’

Ju Seo-jin let out a sigh.

━[Me] : Haa. Fine, if you are paying that much, then it is worth doing. I will be shut up at home for the time being anyway, so it does not matter.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : As expected! This is why I like you, Oppa Unlike my friends’ older brother guys, you are worth calling dear elder brother! Splendid!

━[Me] : That is not exactly a compliment that makes me happy.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : If you are receiving 1.2 million won +@ for an expected profit of 3 million won, should you not be happy? Dear elder brother?

━[Me] : ...........

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Ahem. You should answer!

━[Me] : ......Yes. Of course. Thinking about it again, I believe my thoughts were mistaken. I am happy, Ms. Ju Seo-yoon.

As Ju Seo-jin spoke playfully, as if raising the white flag and admitting defeat, Ju Seo-yoon also answered brightly.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : (A cute pink rabbit emoticon shrugging its shoulders)

Certainly.

Unlike someone gloomy-looking like himself, she had the power to lift the mood.

It seemed streamer was her true calling.

Ju Seo-jin gave a faint laugh and tapped on his smartphone.

━[Me] : Still, should we not at least discuss things once today? When do you have time?

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Me? I do not have a broadcast today, so I can discuss it anytime. I was actually going to ask whether you had time, Oppa.

━[Me] : As I just said, I am going to be shut in my room for the time being, so it does not really matter when we talk.

━[Ju Seo-yoon] : Really? Then that works out. Oppa, come to my room. Let us talk for a bit. Ah! And when you come, do not forget to bring me a Ppabamba from the refrigerator.

━[Me] : Okay.

Why did this girl like ice cream with such old-man tastes?

Ju Seo-jin tilted his head, got up, and went out to the living room.

Among the old-man-taste ice creams piled up in the freezer, he picked one up, then went to Ju Seo-yoon’s room.

Since he was in a situation where he had to participate in his younger sister’s game stream in just one day, there would be a need for the two of them to talk things over.

That was what he thought.

‘If she called me to a game stream, then there must be something she wants me to do, right? Then I should be faithful to the role I am given, since I am being paid.’

***

“Hm? Oppa, you do not have to do anything. To begin with, you have not really played games much, have you? I am not expecting anything like that!”

And yet───

That was not the case.

Long black hair.

A face with a catlike impression.

Ju Seo-yoon melted the ice cream in her mouth while sitting on the edge of the bed, letting out a laugh.

“Oppa. You have never used a capsule before, right? Naturally, you have never played a virtual reality game either…… so you are a beginner, right?”

“……Mm. That is true, is it not? That is why I am worried. I was wondering what we would do if the game stream became difficult to run because of me.”

“No. I was saying I like it because of that, though? Because you are pure, clean water who has never played a virtual reality game even once, Oppa, that is what makes it good!”

“?”

“Originally, viewers like watching newbies like you suffer more than watching someone who is only kind of good at it. So that is why I am trying to play the game with you.”

“I do not really understand. Is that… entertaining? How strange.”

Ju Seo-yoon’s room.

Sitting on the chair in front of the desk, Ju Seo-jin tilted his head.

In a game stream, people liked watching someone be bad at the game?

At first glance, it was difficult to understand.

“That is because you have no interest in this kind of thing at all, Oppa. Everyone likes it more when a complete newbie suffers than when someone is vaguely decent at the game.”

“Well…… if you say so, then I suppose that is how it is. So, in the end, you are saying there is nothing you want me to take charge of in the game stream.”

“That is right! Oppa, you only need to stick next to me and play the game a little actively. That alone will be fun, you know?”

“I understand.”

A basic payment of 1.2 million won.

Depending on the results, it was work that could earn him close to 3 million won in total.

If simply playing the game was enough, then that was all he had to do.

“Ah. While you were gone, I bought a new capsule device, you know? So there is one capsule device I used before in the storage room.”

“You are saying I should use that capsule and connect to the virtual reality game, correct?”

“Yeah. Exactly. You can make an account quickly too, so after creating an account in the capsule, you only need to connect straight into the virtual space.”

“That is simple.”

It was not difficult.

Although Ju Seo-jin had never used a capsule, let alone played a virtual reality game, it was not a major problem.

More than that, he was curious about something else.

“But… Seo-yoon, what game are you playing on tomorrow’s stream? I do want to know that before going in.”

Tomorrow.

He was curious about exactly what game Ju Seo-yoon would be streaming on her personal broadcast.

Naturally so.

“Ah that?”

At that question, Ju Seo-yoon grinned and gave a mischievous answer.

“It is a secret.”

***

A capsule.

After connecting to the device used to play virtual reality games, Ju Seo-yoon entered the Select Room, a white space, and the moment she began streaming, viewers started coming in.

In the span of not even a minute at most, over several hundred viewers entered, and the chat window shot upward in the blink of an eye.

-Myangha Myangha.

-Daaamn Myangbangwool, I believed in you. You are turning on the stream as a surprise gift..!

-Oh? Myangha. But did Myangbangwool not say she was taking a break until today? What is going on?

‘Myangbangwool’.

Her streamer name.

It was the name that referred to Ju Seo-yoon.

Chats that easily exceeded several dozen all called her in unison, cheering.

Ju Seo-yoon also broke into a bright smile, waved her hand, and greeted the viewers in a lively voice with her opening stream remarks.

Standing at an angle in the Select Room where he would not be shown on the stream screen, Ju Seo-jin tilted his head.

It was because he had one question.

‘Mm. But- is today not Monday? How are these people watching an internet broadcast at 1 p.m. on a weekday?’

It was bizarre.

Normally, since it was a weekday, everyone should have been busy at this hour…… so he wondered how they could watch a streamer’s broadcast.

‘How strange. Is this what streaming is like? Certainly…… just as Seo-yoon said, I really do not know anything about personal broadcasts.’

Of course.

He did not feel particularly strong about resolving that question.

For Ju Seo-jin, streaming was not a field he cared much about.

[ donated ‘10,000 won’.]

━Myangha Myangha! Myangbangwool, were you not taking the day off today? Why did you turn on the stream today?

“Wow! MyangbangwoolIsABabyProtectHer, sir! Thank you for the 10,000 won donatiooon! Today, I turned on the stream because I have a surprise gift prepared for everyone!”

Instead, Ju Seo-jin watched from a corner of the Select Room as Ju Seo-yoon giggled with a bright face and acted cute.

When he thought about how she had loved firmly receiving everyone’s affection as the youngest child at home while acting cute in all sorts of ways, it was not as if she was pretending to be tremendously cute.

There had even been times when Ju Seo-jin felt a strange emotion whenever she acted overly cute.

‘Sometimes, I even thought that if we had not had an age gap of five whole years…… she might have been difficult to dote on.’

Taking that into account, the cuteness she showed in front of the viewers while streaming was not that excessive.

[ donated ‘10,000 won’.]

━A surprise gift? Did you bring some new content today? Hurry and tell us, Myangbangwool!!

“Ehehe. Of course, I have to tell you! The surprise gift I brought today is…… ‘Knight Soul’!”

Ju Seo-yoon giggled and said the name of the game that would become today’s content, and the chat window quickly moved upward.

-Huh.. Knight Soul? Has Myangbangwool finally awakened to a god-tier game!

-K n i g h t S o u l ! W h a t h a d t o c o m e h a s c o m e ! T h i s i s b a d !!! E-mergencyyy!!

-For real?? That Myangbangwool is going to play Knight Soul?? This is hilarious hahahahahahaha

“Yeeees! It is true, ladies and gentlemen! I, Myangbangwool-! Will no longer avoid roguelike-style games! I will run toward clearing Knight Soul!”

[Knight Soul].

A AAA-class game.

It was a new title released by ‘Soul Leaf,’ a company famous for producing roguelike-style dark fantasy games, and it had been an enormous work that gathered tremendous expectations even before release.

Even Ju Seo-jin, who did not have that much interest in games, let alone streaming, had heard about it in considerable detail.

Its fame was extremely high, but so was its infamy.

‘……[Knight Soul]. Since its release a few months ago, has it not been a game constantly talked about because of its brutal difficulty? I think people said it was difficult even when playing while looking at a strategy guide.’

It was only natural.

The story of [Knight Soul] was that of a wandering knight─── the player, who had inherited a ‘knight’s soul,’ roaming a vast world and defeating all sorts of enemies with the skills they had built up.

In other words- to put it simply, it was what people called a skill-based game where so-called ‘physical skill’ was absolutely important.

And in [Knight Soul], the importance of that physical skill was far too great.

‘……[Knight Soul] is famous enough that even I know about it, but the criticism that its gameplay difficulty is so vicious that it cannot be properly enjoyed was everywhere. I heard its rating dropped because of that as well.’

Because of that, [Knight Soul] had even once received harsh criticism as a trash game that showed no consideration whatsoever toward the player.

Even so, most gamers had evaluated that ‘[Knight Soul] belongs among well-made games even considering its lack of friendliness.’

-So its flaws were merely not highlighted as much as they might have been.

The A.I. of the characters, who seemed like living people, had also contributed greatly to its high evaluation.

‘I see. So that is why she did not even tell me what kind of game it was. If I knew too much in an awkward way, she would not be able to satisfy the viewers.’

As Ju Seo-jin thought inwardly that Ju Seo-yoon had indeed had her own considerations, the stream proceeded smoothly.

A signal.

Ju Seo-yoon sent a signal to Ju Seo-jin, who was standing near the edge of the Select Room, telling him to get ready to come forward soon.

Ju Seo-jin began moving forward, and Ju Seo-yoon began introducing him with proper timing.

“You all know that originally, even though [Knight Soul] is a single-player game, people say it can be enjoyed even more if two or more people play multiplayer, right?”

Ju Seo-yoon continued in a lively voice, winking her eyes.

“But! Oh no, what should I do! I, Myangbangwool have no acquaintances……! So, today, I have invited one special guest- and that is my real older brother! Please welcome him!”

Ju Seo-jin moved with a slide, appeared before the viewers, and greeted them calmly.

“Mm…… I am Ju Seo-jin. I am Myangbang…wool’s… real older brother. I look forward to your kind support.”

Even though it was nothing much of a greeting, everyone began excitedly typing in the chat as if they had gone berserk.

-Wow...

-Su per hand some !

-Wow, her older brother’s looks are no joke either??? He is insanely handsome;;; what is this?

-Wow... This is crazy; he is seriously gorgeous??; Even her older brother is this good-looking..?

-No... He is handsome, definitely handsome, but... um.. those dark circles......? He looks extremely tired;

Originally, Ju Seo-yoon was a streamer who was extremely famous for being pretty, but she could not compare to Ju Seo-jin.

It was a decadent beauty that forced everyone, regardless of gender, to let out at least one sound of admiration.

The number of viewers also climbed rapidly thanks to that, and a proud smile settled around Ju Seo-yoon’s lips.

She, too, had participated Ju Seo-jin in the game stream because she had expected this kind of reaction to appear.

CLAP!

However, that too lasted only a moment.

Ju Seo-yoon clapped once and refreshed the mood.

“Now! Since I have introduced the special guest too… shall we move on to the main topic, ladies and gentlemen?”

A mischievous smile.

Ju Seo-yoon glanced at Ju Seo-jin, then grinned- and spoke aloud.

It was the declaration announcing the start of the actual game.

“New content! The new game [Knight Soul], I will now begin playing!”
