Chapter 5: The Destruction of Conglin Village

After only a brief glance, Lu Xunxian soon returned home.

A lavish spread of dishes had already been laid out on the table, and three servants stood not far away.

“Master, Young Master, Young Miss, it is time to dine.”

Lu Xunxian had once saved those three by chance. Ever since then, they had followed him with absolute devotion.

“Mm. Uncle Fu, you should eat as well.”

After saying that to them, Lu Xunxian sat down and began eating with his son and daughter.

“Master, should the two little masters not begin cultivating as well?”

Partway through the meal, Wangcai could not help speaking up.

Half a year ago, under Lu Xunxian’s escort, Wangcai had gone to the Myriad Treasures Pavilion and purchased a method for completing Immortal-grade spiritual roots.

Three months ago, Lu Xiaoyao and Lu Qingyun had both completed their Immortal-grade spiritual roots.

So in Wangcai’s view, it was now time for the two little masters to begin cultivating as well.

The moment Wangcai spoke, Lu Xiaoyao’s eyes lit up. He ran over and shook Lu Xunxian’s arm with all his strength.

“Father, I want to cultivate! I want to soar through the skies and roam the earth!”

Beside him, Lu Qingyun said nothing, but her little face was filled with anticipation.

Lu Xunxian pondered for a moment, then spoke.

“In that case, Father will take you to pay the Sacred Lands a visit and see whether they have any cultivation arts suited to you.”

Because of the System, the only cultivation art Lu Xunxian currently possessed was the 《Wushui Chaos Scripture》.

But the spiritual roots he had completed for his son and daughter were, respectively, an Immortal-grade Fire Spiritual Root and an Immortal-grade Wood Spiritual Root.

The 《Wushui Chaos Scripture》 in his hands was not suitable for them.

Hearing his father’s words, Lu Xiaoyao was so excited that he practically bounced up from the ground.

“Hooray! Father, you are the best!”

“Very well. There is no time to lose. We shall leave at once.”

With Lu Xunxian’s current strength, no one on the vast Tiansheng Continent was a match for him.

That was also why he had the confidence to go to those Sacred Lands and demand cultivation arts.

“Uncle Fu, I will leave the house to you for the time being.”

“Master, go without worry. Leave everything to me.”

Uncle Fu bowed respectfully to Lu Xunxian.

“Let's go.”

After speaking, Lu Xunxian signaled to Wangcai with his eyes.

Wangcai understood immediately. In the next instant, his body swelled, and before long he had returned to that mountain-like size.

Only, compared to a year ago, the markings on Wangcai’s body had changed considerably.

He now looked even more overbearing.

After all, having followed Lu Xunxian for a full year, it would have been hard for his realm not to rise.

Watching Lu Xunxian and the others ride away on Wangcai, Uncle Fu turned to look at the other two maidservants, his expression stern.

“While Master is away, remember this well—do not stir up any trouble.”

“Yes.”

The two maidservants answered with equally solemn expressions.

Meanwhile, in Conglin Village—

“Elder Chen, there is no need for you to trouble yourself with what comes next. I can handle it myself.”

Feng Qingyu turned to Elder Chen and made the request.

After speaking, she looked toward Conglin Village, her gaze extremely complicated, but in the end it still hardened with resolve.

Without hesitation, Feng Qingyu quickly arrived before that familiar courtyard.

But the moment she saw the scene within it, her brows could not help drawing together.

The courtyard was overgrown with weeds. It did not look like a place anyone still lived in.

Seeing this, Feng Qingyu hurried inside, pushed open the door, and entered the house.

“Where exactly did they go?”

A thin layer of dust had already settled on the table. Feng Qingyu rubbed some of it between her fingers.

Judging by the traces left behind, she concluded that they had been gone for half a year.

Not daring to think further, Feng Qingyu quickly went back outside and entered the neighboring courtyard of Aunt Wang.

“Aunt Wang, do you know where Lu Xunxian and the children went?”

In the courtyard, Aunt Wang narrowed her eyes. After quite a while, she finally recognized Feng Qingyu, and her face immediately lit up with surprise.

“Child Feng, what brings you back?”

But Feng Qingyu had no mood for reminiscing with her. She kept pressing Aunt Wang for Lu Xunxian’s and the children’s whereabouts.

“You mean that boy Lu and those two children? I do not know. After you left, they disappeared, and no one knows where they went.”

“So that is how it is?”

Feng Qingyu’s expression grew grave. Clearly, she had not expected Lu Xunxian to take the children and leave.

Ignoring Aunt Wang’s offer to keep her for a meal, Feng Qingyu rose directly into the air and soon arrived at a deserted place.

There, Feng Qingyu took out a sound-transmission jade talisman.

“Master, something is wrong. My husband took the two children and left Conglin Village. Their whereabouts are now unknown.”

Within the Qingfeng Sacred Land, Lin Changkong could not help showing a trace of surprise when he heard Feng Qingyu’s words.

Clearly, he had not expected such a turn of events.

But he quickly recovered.

“There is no need for you to panic. I shall teach you a method.”

“So long as you use this method, you will be able to track wherever your bloodline has gone.”

“Then I shall trouble Master.”

Feng Qingyu hurriedly replied, and inwardly she could not help letting out a sigh of relief.

Very soon, the bloodline tracking art was transmitted to Feng Qingyu through the sound-transmission jade talisman.

After mastering the bloodline tracking art, Feng Qingyu looked at Conglin Village before her with a complicated expression.

After a long while, she let out a sigh and struck down with a single palm, destroying Conglin Village.

“Do not blame me. If you must blame someone, then blame yourselves for knowing too much.”

Everyone in Conglin Village knew of her relationship with Lu Xunxian, so naturally none of them could be left alive.

Poor villagers of Conglin Village—they did not even know what had happened before they died.

After finishing all this, Feng Qingyu forced out a drop of Blood Essence from her fingertip and, following her master’s instructions, used the bloodline tracking art.

Very soon, that drop of Blood Essence shot toward the distance.

“Elder Chen, let's go.”

Feng Qingyu rose into the air and spoke to Elder Chen.

Elder Chen merely cast a calm glance at the ruined Conglin Village and said nothing.

To people like them, mortal lives were as worthless as grass.

Before long, that drop of Blood Essence flew into the Myriad Demons Mountain Range.

Looking at the mountain range before her, Feng Qingyu felt somewhat puzzled.

“Why would my husband bring the children here?”

But she did not dwell on it. What mattered most now was finding her husband and the children and then… granting them release.

Very soon, she saw a house ahead. The drop of blood finally came to a halt there.

And standing before the house was an old man.

Seeing the old man, Feng Qingyu thought nothing of it. She stepped forward, took out a portrait of Lu Xunxian, and began asking.

“Old sir, may I ask whether you have seen this person before?”

The person before her was none other than Uncle Fu.

Uncle Fu looked at the portrait of his master and frowned slightly.

“Who are you, and why are you asking about him?”

Hearing Uncle Fu’s words, Feng Qingyu quickly explained, “This man is my dao companion. We were separated because of certain matters, but now I need to contact him about something.”

“So if you know, I ask that you please tell me where he is.”

“My apologies. I cannot tell you.”

Without his master’s permission, he would never reveal his master’s whereabouts.

But the moment Feng Qingyu heard that, she immediately grew anxious.

She could tell that Uncle Fu knew something. Otherwise, he would have refused her from the very start.

“Since you are unwilling to tell me, then do not blame me for being merciless.”

With that, Feng Qingyu struck without warning, clawing straight toward Uncle Fu’s head.

She was clearly about to perform a soul search.
